The Power of Giving

Want to have the power to make a really big impact on our community? GivingTuesday is a great opportunity.

Last year, more than 3.6 million people from 150 countries joined together to raise $400 million for charity on GivingTuesday. Together with our partners, United Way of Franklin County wants to keep the momentum going this year, to help over 22,120 people in our local community receive better education, financial stability, and health.

GivingTuesday is worldwide philanthropic event, harnessing the generosity of millions to support the causes they believe in and the communities in which they live. On this day, every single act of volunteerism or donation to United Way of Franklin County is amplified by the sheer number of people joining in.

This year, GivingTuesday is on December 3 -- and you can join in to help power change, whether it’s your first time or you’ve participated before.

100% of all money raised through United Way of Franklin County stays local, and is used to support programs right here in our community that bolster early learning, promote healthy living, and build financial stability.

The best part about GivingTuesday? It doesn’t take a heroic effort to make an impact. Donate the $5 you would spend on a cup of coffee and it can provide an instrument for the Arts Integrated Pre-K Program. That $10 app for your phone can become a healthy meal for the Daily Living Skills Program. And the power of any amount you donate is supercharged by the collective giving that will happen on December 3.

The power of one. The impact of many.

If you’ve never participated in GivingTuesday, mark your calendar to earn your cape this year by making a gift to United Way of Franklin County. You can give through our Facebook Fundraiser, to be activated that day through our Facebook page, or anytime on our website by clicking the "DONATE" button in the top right corner.

Together we can solve some of the most critical problems Franklin County is facing. Find out more about what United Way is doing here.
