About the Event
United Way of Franklin County and South Central Community Action Programs (SCCAP) are partnering to offer the Bridges Out of Poverty Training to local nonprofit employees, nonprofit Board members, active community volunteers, students, and educators.
The workshop, presented by SCCAP CEO Megan Shreve, is designed to help us work better together with individuals from diverse backgrounds. The training provides strategies for professionals and community to step back from judgement and utilize language and behaviors that support building effective relationships that allow us to work more effectively with low wage earners and those struggling in poverty. Gain a deeper understanding of how living in constant economic pressure impacts the way we see and operate in the world.
BY INVITATION ONLY through a nonprofit or education institution (please indicate the organization you were invited by when registering). Doors open at 8am. Continental breakfast is provided. Attendance is free but registration is required; Register by Friday, November 8.
The event is offered free for nonprofits and education institutions thanks to our Event Sponsor, LCSi Lehman Construction Services, Inc.
